Summer at Søren Kierkegaards Plads

This summer Søren Kierkegaard Plads is transformed into a green park. The green square will be open from 1 July to 7 August 2022.

The partners behind the design

The interior design of Søren Kierkegaards Plads was designed by the architectural firm BOGL and was created in collaboration between SLKS, the National Museum of Denmark, the City of Copenhagen, Royal Danish Library and with the kind support of Realdania.

This summer Søren Kierkegaards Plads is transformed into a green oasis with grass and trees, which the city will enjoy all summer as the temporary urban space will remain until the beginning of August 2022.

Søren Kierkegaard Square will house green planting, play areas and pergolas to sit under. The transformation of Søren Kierkegaards Plads will be an urban experiment to test how one of the largest squares in Copenhagen can be developed and used in the future.

The occasion is this year's Tour de France, where stage 1 will lead the riders right by Søren Kierkegaard Plads and Royal Danish Library.
