Make a bird out of a toilet roll

You can easily have a creative workshop at home at the kitchen table - see here how.

Let's take a closer look at the beautiful birds from the giant work Birds of America. Did you know that this book is almost a meter high? Inspired by the beautiful birds, you can build your own bird from a toilet roll. Try to take a closer look at the pictures. Maybe you can be inspired as to what colours or feathers your own bird should have.

You need

  • A toilet roll
  • Paper, a newspaper, gift wrap, napkins or anything else you can paste around the toilet roll
  • Glue stick or other glue
  • Markers, crayons and other drawing tools

How to do it

Cut paper so that it can be rolled around the toilet roll. Glue the paper to the toilet roll.

Draw the eyes and beak of the bird. You can put the glue stick on the paper and draw around it, then you get a pair of round eyes.

Then cut out two squares and fold them like wings.
