Each year, we award grants from two foundations. In order to be considered, a number of conditions must be met.

Market gardener Harry Opstrup’s Foundation
Purpose
The purpose of the foundation is to expand public knowledge about the ongoing development of photography and thereby increase appreciation of the photographer’s work.
Projects meriting support
The board supports among other things:
- Large supplementary procurements, both domestic and foreign
- Arranging non-permanent exhibitions, or
- Assisting with renting, acquiring or building permanent facilities for exhibition purposes
The board may grant unsolicited funding and/or call up applications for funding.

Stamp dealer and railway historian Peer Olav Thomassen’s Foundation
Purpose
The purpose of the foundation is to ensure the continuation of research of primarily Danish traffic and communication history.
Projects meriting support
To promote this goal, allocation of funds may be made available for:
- Procuring the relevant material, including the necessary storage, registration, cataloguing, binding, preservation et cetera, of said materials
- Preparation of publications, including wages and printing costs, et cetera.
- Study and research costs, including travel allowances, or
- Funds for exhibitions, seminars, congresses, et cetera.

Frimærkehandler og jernbanehistoriker Peer Olav Thomassens Fond
Formål
Fondens formål er at sikre videreførelse af forskningen af fortrinsvis dansk trafik- og kommunikationshistorie.
Støtteværdige formål
Til fremme af dette formål kan der stilles bevillinger til rådighed til:
- Anskaffelse af relevant materiale, herunder til den fornødne opbevaring, registrering, katalogisering, indbinding, konservering m.v. af det indgåede materiale.
- Udarbejdelse af publikationer, herunder til løn og trykomkostninger m.v.
- Studie- og forskningsudgifter, herunder rejsetilskud, eller
- Tilskud til afholdelse af udstillinger, seminarer, kongresser m.v.

Sådan søger du KB’s legater og fonde
Bliv klar til at skrive en ansøgning til Det Kgl. Biblioteks legater.
Ansøgningen skal indeholde følgende
- Projektbeskrivelse: Her beskrives kort baggrund for projektet, projektets indhold samt hvorfor, det er vigtigt. Max 5.000 anslag
- Organisering: Hvem er involveret i projektet og hvordan organiseres projektet, herunder eventuelle samarbejdspartnere
- Økonomi/budget, se nedenfor: Der opstilles et retvisende projektbudget, inklusive forventede indtægter og udgifter. Se specifikation til budget nedenfor.
- Tidsplan: Opstil en realistisk tidsplan for projektet
- Målsætninger: Hvorfor er projektet vigtigt. Opsæt målsætninger, der er relevante, meningsfulde og gerne målbare.
- Målgrupper: Definér så specifikt som muligt – hvem er kernemålgruppen?
- Kommunikation af projektet: Hvordan kommunikeres til projektetsmålgrupper
Krav til budgettet
- Opstilling af retvisende budget: Herunder forventede udgifter, specificeret i overordnede budgetposter
- Finansieringsplan: Herunder evt. egenfinansiering, eventuelt øvrige ansøgte fonde og resultatet heraf
