Tour: The exhibition #DKgame

ONLY FOR THE DIAMOND CLUB - Are computer games cultural heritage? Join us for a tour of our newest exhibition.

Computer games are the digital age's very own medium. A form of cultural expression and an art form in itself. A billion-dollar industry and an ecosystem with associations, events, training and production support. A part of every Dane's everyday life - and therefore a part of Royal Danish Library's collections.

The collection of the games began way back in the 1990s after "computer games and other interactive works" were introduced in the Danish Legal Deposit Act. This meant that a copy had to be delivered to Royal Danish Library every time a new game was released. In 2005, the legislation was revised to also include material published online, after which the library's collection grew rapidly.

The library's collection now includes more than 4,000 Danish-produced computer games from the 60s to the present day. Come and hear specialist consultant from Royal Danish Library, Jakob Moesgaard, give his take on how "gamification" affects our everyday life when he gives a tour of the exhibition. The tour is in Danish.

Feel free to bring a guest, a friend, a child or a grandchild for free.

Tickets are free for members of the Diamond Club. It requires you to either write to the Diamond Club via email, call or pick up the ticket in our shop.
