Library Services and Partnerships
We provide library services to a wide range of local and national partners.
We collaborate with several educational and research institutions to operate and develop educational and university libraries. This concerns the partnership with Copenhagen University Library and Roskilde University Library as well as Royal Danish Library's service to the IT University of Copenhagen and service to the Danish School of Media and Journalism (in Danish).
We are also responsible for a number of national services, including Royal Danish Library's Nota service, the Gender Research Service, the Ministry of Culture's PURE consortium and Ask the Library.
We are responsible for strategic development and operational responsibility of the library system, which is also used by universities, vocational colleges and other public institutions.
We are also responsible for managing and negotiating digital access to library materials for the majority of the country's cultural, educational and research institutions. This is done specifically through our licensing service and document service.
It is a strategic goal for us to contribute to international library development, act as a strategic library partner and overall link between actors in Denmark, and support national efforts for increased and open access.
Across the area's many services, we work with the following core areas:
- Information supply
- Digital education and teaching
- Research services
- User service
