Royal Danish Library has entered into an agreement with the National Library of Norway on a long-term loan of five manuscripts, which can be described as Nordic cultural treasures.

The agreement concerns three manuscripts on state law and Medieval Scandinavian law (Codex Hardenbergianus, Codex Tunsbergensis and Rantzaubogen), a collection of hymns (Kristin Håkonsdatter Psalter) and a music manuscript (Nidarossantifonariet).

The manuscripts were mainly created in what is now Norway in the Middle Ages. They then came to Denmark, while Denmark-Norway were joined in the Dano-Norwegian Realm (1536-1814).

You can find them here:

Codex Hardenbergianus has been digitised and is about to be posted online. As soon as there is access to it, we will say so here.
