Selected Digital Works by Danish Composers ca. 1750 – ca. 1900 (manuscripts and prints)

This e-collection consists of digitisations of manuscripts and printed sheet music, about 3,500 – some are published with a view to printing out, others to a greater degree for study use. As examples of collections one should mention manuscripts by J.P.E. Hartmann and Peter Heise, printed Danish music such as songs, piano works and chamber music, printed H.C. Lumbye dances for piano and works for the flute by Joachim Andersen. Apart from this, a special collection of early printed sheet music until 1800 – Danish as well as foreign.

The majority of the digitised sheet music is searchable in REX, while other parts are arranged in special databases or according to subject.

The publishing is part of The Royal Library’s work on making available selected parts of its collections on the Internet.

See an overview of the individual collections – with lists of the most recent digitisations. If you search in REX or, you will automatically be guided to the online edition. The works form part of The Danish National Digital Sheet Music Archive
