Library Garden, Victor Albecks Vej, Aarhus

The Library Garden on the first floor is the library's green oasis. An open space with high ceilings, where there is room to work, meet up or simply enjoy the atmosphere.

Architecture

The Library Garden, with its organic shapes and greenery, is designed as a reference to the library's unique location in the University Park in Aarhus. The gentle sound of trickling water in the basin is another reference to the park, contributing to a calm and welcoming atmosphere. The elevated skylight offers a view of the Book Tower and casts natural light over the garden. Below the Book Tower, the Library Garden is flanked by the iconic bookcase, which spans all four public floors of our library. The architectural approach and intention have been to create the illusion that the cultural heritage is drawn out from the Book Tower behind and made visible in the shelving.

Activities

A variety of events take place in the Library Garden, ranging from literary events and community singing to larger concerts and choir singing.
