Our organisation
Royal Danish Library is as a cornerstone of a democratic society as a cultural institution, a national library and a university library under the Ministry of Culture.
The chief executive is the library's most senior leader, and at a level below the library is organised in a number of deputy director areas, each focusing on its distinct area of the library's large task portfolio. Each deputy director's area is divided into several professionally specialised departments and sections. In January 2024, Nota Bibliotek also became part of Royal Danish Library.
Together, the Director and the deputy directors constitute Royal Danish Library’s executive board.
