LIVE in the Library Garden – Duncan Wiese, Kira Skov, Andreas Jebro and David Dreyer Lassen
Wonderful musicians, poets, actors and speakers create a poetic respite under the open late summer sky in Copenhagen's probably most beautiful and most secret garden.
Royal Danish Library's successful summer stage, LIVE in the Library Garden, returns with plenty of music, poetry and performance.
Over four late summer Thursdays in August and September, you can experience poetry, music and talks under the open sky in the historic setting between Christiansborg Palace and the old library building. A range of artists, actors, poets and researchers will take part.
The theme of the year – Trust
The theme of this year’s four late summer afternoons is trust. Trust is a prerequisite for human communities, both in our close relationships and at a societal level.
But what about trust today? Trust in the future, in the news, in authorities and politicians, in science, in love, and in ourselves. We often describe our welfare society as a high-trust society – but does that still hold true, or is it something of the past?
It is often said that once trust is lost, it cannot be regained. In an increasingly divided world, trust is one of the most precious things we have. So how do you build and nurture trust?
Benches will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but you are very welcome to bring a blanket or a folding chair. Refreshments can be purchased from the café’s pop-up bar throughout the event. Our DJ will be playing laid-back tunes before and after the programme, so stay and enjoy the late summer atmosphere.Once again this year, LIVE in the Library Garden is presented in collaboration with Copenhagen University Library, bringing together research from the University of Copenhagen with art, poetry and music in order to highlight the societal value of research.

Participants
Duncan Wiese
Duncan Wiese is a poet who made his debut in 2019 with the poetry collection "Tityrus", which was shortlisted for both the Bogforum Debut Prize and the Munch-Christensen Debut Prize. His writing brings together a strong awareness of literary tradition and those aspects of life that resist control. In 2023, he published "Kirkebærplukkerne" (The Cherry Pickers), a poetry collection about fatherhood, care and work. He is currently promoting "DRENGE" (BOYS), a brutal yet sensitive collection of poems exploring masculinity, anxiety and American football.
Kira Skov
For more than two decades, Kira Skov has been one of the most distinctive voices on the Danish music scene. Throughout her career, she has insisted on letting music reflect life in all its loss, longing and transformation. From her breakthrough with Kira & The Kindred Spirits to an extensive and exploratory solo catalogue, she has created a body of work filled with strong releases and collaborations across genres and generations. Her voice holds both fragility and strength, blending beautifully whenever she takes the stage.
Andreas Jebro
Andreas Jebro graduated from Aarhus Theatre School in 2007. He was a member of the ensemble at Aarhus Theatre from 2007 to 2011 and at Aalborg Theatre from 2011 to 2015. He has performed in more than 50 stage productions and, in 2014, received a Reumert Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in the comedy "Den spanske flue" (The Spanish Fly) at Aalborg Theatre. In 2017, he won the Reumert Award for Best Actor for his performance in "Erasmus Montanus" a reinterpretation by Christian Lollike’s staged by Aarhus Theatre and Sort/Hvid.
David Dreyer Larsen
David Dreyer Lassen is Professor of Economics and has served as Rector of the University of Copenhagen since 2025. He founded the Social Data Science programme at the University of Copenhagen and has conducted research in social data science, political economy and public economics.
