LIVE in the Library Garden – Bukuru, Caroline Albertine Minor, Thomas Levin and Stine Lomborg

Wonderful musicians, poets, actors and speakers create a poetic respite under the open late summer sky in Copenhagen's probably most beautiful and most secret garden.

Royal Danish Library's successful summer stage, LIVE in the Library Garden, returns with plenty of music, poetry and performance.

Over four late summer Thursdays in August and September, you can experience poetry, music and talks under the open sky in the historic setting between Christiansborg Palace and the old library building. A range of artists, actors, poets and researchers will take part.

The theme of the year – Trust

The theme of this year’s four late summer afternoons is trust. Trust is a prerequisite for human communities, both in our close relationships and at a societal level.

But what about trust today? Trust in the future, in the news, in authorities and politicians, in science, in love, and in ourselves. We often describe our welfare society as a high-trust society – but does that still hold true, or is it something of the past?

It is often said that once trust is lost, it cannot be regained. In an increasingly divided world, trust is one of the most precious things we have. So how do you build and nurture trust?

Benches will be available on a first-come, first-served basis, but you are very welcome to bring a blanket or a folding chair. Refreshments can be purchased from the café’s pop-up bar throughout the event. Our DJ will be playing laid-back tunes before and after the programme, so stay and enjoy the late summer atmosphere.Once again this year, LIVE in the Library Garden is presented in collaboration with Copenhagen University Library, bringing together research from the University of Copenhagen with art, poetry and music in order to highlight the societal value of research.

BUKURU

BUKURU grew up in a small town about an hour outside Aalborg in a home where music was always present. Even before his debut music release, he was highlighted by several media outlets as a promising new voice. In 2024, he signed with Capitol Records, and after completing upper secondary school, he moved to Copenhagen to pursue music full-time. His personal journey is reflected in his lyrics, which convey the emotions and experiences of youth with vulnerability and authenticity.

Caroline Albertine Minor

Caroline Albertine Minor is one of the most critically acclaimed authors of her generation. She graduated from Forfatterskolen in 2012 and made her literary debut with the novel "Pura Vida" in 2013. In 2017, she published the short story collection "Velsignelser" (Blessings), which became her breakthrough work and earned her the Michael Strunge Prize, the P. O. Enquist Prize and the Danish Fiction Writers' Association's award Den svære Toer.

Most recently, in June 2026, she published the novel Den forelskede ven (The Friend in Love), a kaleidoscopic novel about submission, fictions and ecstasy.

Thomas Levin

Thomas Levin is a Danish actor who graduated from the Danish National School of Performing Arts in Copenhagen in 2003. He is known for his work in film, television and theatre, including roles in the acclaimed Danish series The Killing (Forbrydelsen), Borgen and Ride Upon the Storm (Herrens Veje). Alongside his work on stage and screen, he has also appeared in several international productions. Levin has furthermore served as Artistic Director of Teater Grob.

Stine Lomborg

Stine Lomborg is Professor at the Department of Communication, University of Copenhagen. Her research focuses on digital media, datafication and the impact of tracking technologies on everyday life and society. She works particularly with topics such as self-tracking, personal data, automated decision-making systems and the role of social media in contemporary communication.

Lomborg also leads the research environment Centre for Tracking & Society, where she investigates how digital data influences individual behaviour, identity and relationships with societal institutions.
