Everything You Did Not Know We Had
Royal Danish Library is Denmark’s national library, and our collections are a treasure trove of Danish culture. In this exhibition, we have selected intriguing highlights for visitors to explore.
From Aarhus to Aalborg - that is how far Royal Danish Library’s book collection would stretch if every volume were placed end to end. The collection is vast, the result of more than 300 years of collecting and preserving every book published in and about Denmark.
But Royal Danish Library's collections are not only extensive, they are also remarkably diverse. They document Denmark's past and present – yours and ours – across a wide range of fields and through many different types of physical and digital media.
In the exhibition Everything You Didn’t Know We Had, we present a selection of the Danish cultural heritage preserved in Royal Danish Library’s archives. The exhibition showcases the breadth of the library’s collections and offers a glimpse into the many stories these materials tell. From the folk-electronica of Stemmer i Voks to Danish pop ballads and dansktop, from Flora Danica to Se og Hør, from historical manuscripts to yesterday’s advertisements – and much, much more.
We invite you to discover everything you may not have known we had.
