Christmas concert: Camerata Øresund with Christian IV's Vocal Ensemble

Get in the Christmas spirit with rarely performed music that pays tribute to two iconic female figures from Christianity, the Virgin Mary and Saint Cecilia!

Camerata Øresund is behind this year's atmospheric Christmas concert in The Black Diamond. They are joined by Christian IV's Vocal Ensemble in a concert that pays tribute to the mother, healer and protector Virgin Mary, as well as the patron saint of music, Saint Cecilia. Both historical figures have inspired composers through the centuries to create works filled with fervour, power and beauty.

The music encourages contemplation, sensitivity and joy. Listen to music by the French Baroque masters Charpentier and Dumont, as well as Vivaldi's famous "Magnificat".

With this program, Camerata Øresund continues its tradition of celebrating Christmas with less conventional programmes that challenge the classic Christmas concert's regular repertoire. The result is an intimate and immersive concert experience that offers a memorable highlight in the Christmas season.

After the concert, you can join the artists from the stage for a long-table dinner in the Salon. Reserve a seat at the table when buying your ticket.

Cast

Camerata Øresund consists of nine permanent musicians from both sides of the Øresund, but is occasionally expanded with up to 30 musicians and singers. The ensemble is led by Baroque violinist Peter Spissky.

Christian IV's Vocal Ensemble consists of eight singers from Denmark, Norway and Sweden. The repertoire is primarely a cappella from the Renaissance (1425-1625), but the ensemble is also interested in more recent music.
