Three days of classical music throughout every corner of The Black Diamond! Experience Danish and international artists, and, and as something new, Sunday is dedicated to children and their adults.
From 18–20 September, the Music Festival Days in The Black Diamond returns for a second year, filling every corner of the Black Diamond with classical music. New to this edition, Sunday is reserved for children and their families.

Music Festival Days in The Black Diamond is a smorgasbord of classical concerts throughout The Black Diamond. The programme is packed with outstanding Danish and international artists, including Trio con Brio Copenhagen, who are also co-curators of the festival, NOVO Quartet, Michala Petri and many more.
Look forward to classical highlights, join the actor Søren Sætter-Lassen for a musical performance of The Little Prince, and experience concert introductions by Mathias Hammer, known from DR’s The Classical Music Quiz. Or perhaps you would like to join a composer workshop for children and their adults, or a musical journey through the hidden spaces of Royal Danish Library?
You choose your own path through the building and are guaranteed to be able to put together a programme that suits your interests. And if you get hungry, there will be plenty of opportunities to eat and drink as well.

The line-up includes both established Danish and international ensembles such as Danel Quartet (FR/BE), NOVO Quartet, Trio con Brio Copenhagen, Michala Petri, Matthias Schorn (AT), Marianna Shirinyan (DK/AM), Torleif Thedéen (SE), Gustav Piekut and many others. New artists will be announced regularly.
The festival will also feature contributions from other cultural areas, including actor Søren Sætter-Lassen from the Royal Danish Theatre and work introductions by music communicator Mathias Hammer.

Food and drink for every taste

Friday 18 September, 5.00–10.00 pm Saturday 19 September, 12.00–10.00 pm Sunday 20 September, 10.00 am–3.00 pm
Ticket sales
You can either buy single-day tickets for Friday or Saturday, or a joint weekend ticket that gives access to both days.
Festival wristband
Your ticket must be exchanged for a wristband when you arrive at The Black Diamond. You can do this inside the main entrance, where an employee will be ready to greet you.
Arrive early for the concerts
Your wristband gives you access to all concerts scheduled for that day. However, capacity varies across the different venues within the library, and admission is therefore on a first-come, first-served basis. Most venues can accommodate a maximum of 90 people at a time, so be sure to arrive early if you would like to secure a spot.
Wardrobe
Lockers are available on the ground floor to the left of the main entrance. They are free to use and can be secured with an optional four-digit PIN code. An open cloakroom is also available for use at your own risk. Please note that large bags are not permitted in the exhibition spaces.
Accessibility
Accessible parking is available on Søren Kierkegaards Plads, close to the entrance to The Black Diamond. There are a few areas in the historic part of the library that cannot be accessed by wheelchair users without assistance from a member of staff. In particular, the programme items "Turen" and "Lyden af gys" may be difficult to attend for wheelchair users. All other programme items are accessible. Please contact us if you have any questions.
