BookTalks: Sang Young Park

BookTalks is Aarhus' new, International Authors' Stage, and we're starting off strong with a visit from Sang Young Park, one of South Korea's most distinctive, young author voices.

Sang Young Park writes with vulnerability, humour and uncompromising honesty about being queer and young in a modern, yet still norm-driven world. Park's characters dare to live differently and love freely, and he is largely inspired by his own experiences of moving to the capital Seoul in his 20s after a conservative upbringing. The novel 'Love in the Big City' became his international breakthrough.

Sang Young Park meets author and translator Hans Peter Madsen in a conversation about his authorship and writing literature that both reflects and challenges the world we live in. After the conversation, we invite you to Korean social dining, where you can linger and let the conversation and, not least, the fun continue!

BookTalks is for those of you who are curious about literature, regardless of whether you read or not. Leave the checklist at home, and come and experience literature in an informal setting – let's wonder and become wiser together.

BookTalks is a collaboration between Aarhus Centre for Litterature, Royal Danish Library in Aarhus and Studenterhus Aarhus.
