BookTalks: Michael Magee
Experience Michael Magee, the author behind the novel "Back to Belfast", at BookTalks May 27th.
Northern Irish author Michael Magee made his debut in 2023 with "Back to Belfast" about Sean, who has returned to Belfast after studying in Liverpool. He has difficulty finding work in Belfast and instead parties with his old friends from the city and steals groceries to get by. That is, until one day he is convicted of a violent offence he is convicted of assault and meets an old female friend who prompts him to rethink his life.
"Back to Belfast" was nominated for and awarded a wide range of prizes – including the Rooney Prize for Irish Literature. Michael Magee will speak about the novel in conversation with its Danish translator, Camilla Engkjær Laursen.
After the conversation, we invite you to a social dining, where you can linger and let the conversation and, not least, the fun continue!
