Letter-writing Concert in Aarhus
Come and join us for a letter-writing concert in the iconic reading room at Royal Danish Library, Aarhus. Experience the immersion of letter-writing while the group Bloom guides your thoughts and inspires your creativity.
When was the last time you sent an old-fashioned, handwritten letter? And have you ever written a letter while being part of a unique concert experience?
Royal Danish Library invites you to a very special letter-writing and concert experience in collaboration with VIA University College, the Royal Academy of Music Aarhus/Aalborg and Post A Letter Aarhus.
Few spaces in our everyday lives are dedicated to contemplation and reflection. For this event, that is precisely what is in focus. Take a seat in the library's iconic reading room, gather your thoughts and let your writing process be accompanied by an experimental and unique concert. After the concert, you have the opportunity to post your letter and send it off in a very special mailbox.
Behind the concert is Bloom. In a world full of noise, Bloom creates experimental and improvisational soundscapes, where the music acts as a guide that accompanies the listener without ever intruding. The sounds, created from both organic and electronic elements, unfold and form living spaces that can soothe, inspire or let the mind soar.
Before the concert there will be a short presentation about letter-writing, music and reflection. After the concert we invite you to an after-event where you can meet others and talk about the experience, write an extra letter or just have a cup of coffee.
Admission is free and everyone is welcome. We will provide all the materials you need, and when your letter is finished, we will send it out into the world for you.
