Japanese embroidery with I Tråd Med Verden

Do you dream of upcycling your clothes in a beautiful, creative, and sustainable way? Then join us, in collaboration with I Tråd Med Verden, for an embroidery workshop in Indsigten.

At the workshop, you will be introduced to the traditional Japanese embroidery technique Sashiko, which means 'little stabs'.

The Sashiko technique combines aesthetics and repair, allowing you to transform a worn piece of fabric into a unique work of art. You will be guided step by step and receive written materials to take home, so you can continue your needlework at home.

Please bring a piece of clothing with a hole or wear that you can work on – otherwise, we have sample fabrics that you can practice the techniques on. All materials are included, and we of course provide free coffee.

Come and join us for an inspiring afternoon in the spirit of the thread.

Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience.

I Tråd Med Verden (trans: Threaded with the World) is a social enterprise design company that works with discarded industrial textiles as a focal point to create community and employment opportunities for women who are far from the labour market.
