In autumn 2026, Royal Danish Library opens the doors to a new exhibition exploring the many forms and voices of photography in contemporary art. Five Danish galleries – V1 Gallery, Martin Asbæk Gallery, Galleri Nicolai Wallner, Galleri Image and Oblong – have each been invited to present the artists and works that best capture what is currently shaping photography today.

All roads lead to photography

The exhibition offers visitors the opportunity to encounter a wide range of photographic expressions and approaches: from traditional photography to experimental installations, video works and media that merge with photography. Both new and established artists are represented, as each gallery curates its own exhibition space.

The exhibition provides a broad introduction to what photography is capable of right now – and perhaps also hints at where it is headed.
