BookTalks: Hiromi Kawakami
Eperience Japanese author Hiromi Kawakami in a conversation about the novel Under the Eye of the Big Bird at BookTalks on 28 October.
Set in a distant future where the human population is on the verge of extinction and the remaining humans have settled into small tribes across the planet, Under the Eye of the Big Bird unfolds over fourteen interconnected episodes spanning geological eons, depicting a stunning vision of the demise of humanity.
Hiromi Kawakami delivers a talks about the book, which will be published in Danish in October, in a conversation with Agnethe Brounbjerg Bennedsgaard, PhD student in Literary History at Aarhus University. The event will be held in English and interpreted by Anemone Platz, Associate Professor in Japanese Studies at Aarhus University.
After the conversation, there will be a book sale and signing, and we invite you to a social dining, where you can stay and continue both the conversation and the fun over a meal in the library canteen for DKK 50.
