BETWEEN VOICES: Author conversation with Dean Butt and Thomas Bach – 'Social Class, Abuse and Pattern Breaking'

BETWEEN VOICES welcomes you to an author conversation with Dean Butt about Vi er rigtige engle and Thomas Bach's Bunker, when they explore the themes of 'social class, abuse and pattern breaking' in conversation with moderator Lise Vandborg.
The novels depict the working class, alcohol abuse and neglect from the perspective of children and young people, and are based on the authors' own lives. The books portray the tension between the adolescent's love for their parents and the urge to detach themselves from their origins, and relate the feeling of vulnerability and being different.
The conversation with the two authors will be based on the class society, breaking patterns and the feeling of being left out.
As a prelude to the author talk, it will be possible to participate in BETWEEN VOICES' reading club the week before, where we invite you to a cozy and informal conversation about the two books based on the themes 'social class, abuse and pattern breaking'.
About BETWEEN VOICES
BETWEEN VOICES is a new social literature initiative that puts reading at eye level. In this, Royal Danish Library, in collaboration with Aarhus Centre for Literature, invites you to a series of cozy, inspiring and informal conversations about literature. The events will be themed reading clubs and author conversations that deal with current issues. Each reading club will revolve around two books related to an overarching theme, which in the following week will be explored in a moderated conversation with the authors behind the works.
