You can easily have a creative workshop at home at the kitchen table - see here how.

Let us take a closer look at beautiful insects from old picture boards. The pictures were once used for teaching at the Agricultural University. Try looking at the pictures of the flying insects - which one would you like to build? Maybe a nice butterfly?

You need

  • Clothes pegs
  • Paper, napkins, tape, gift wrap, a newspaper or anything else you can fold like wings. You can also use barbecue skewers or cotton swabs for wings. Or how about finding some beautiful leaves in nature and using them as wings?
  • Ink, paint, nail polish, glitter or anything else you can decorate the clip with.

How to do it

Start by decorating the clip - it's the insect's body. Maybe it should have eyes and be  in a nice colour?

Then fold some fine wings for the insect. You can use a napkin or a newspaper. You can also use a couple of sticks, for example barbecue skewers or cotton swabs, and around the sticks you can wrap tape, which can be dyed with ink.

You attach the wings to the clip, and then you have made your insect.
