Inger Christensen
Inger Christensen (1935–2009) is a towering figure in Danish literature, particularly as a poet, with collections such as At (1969), Alphabet (1981) and Butterfly Valley: A Requiem (1991) standing as unparalleled achievements in language and poetry. In Denmark as well as internationally, her writing continues to attract widespread acclaim, with a voice and technique entirely her own.
Klaus Rothstein explores Inger Christensen’s position in Danish literature, while we delve into her original manuscripts, which are specially retrieved from the archives of Royal Danish Library for this occasion.
