Guided tour: Jytte Rex

ANNUAL TICKET HOLDERS ONLY – On this guided tour you can delve deeper into "Dreams and Furious Laughter" about one of the country's most distinctive and original artists, Jytte Rex.

Experience the exhibition "Dreams and Furious Laughter" with works by the visual artist and filmmaker Jytte Rex, where Maja Gro Gundersen, who together with Charlotte Præstegaard Schwartz has curated the exhibition, will show us around the exhibition.

“Photography is part of wandering thoughts,” writes Jytte Rex, among other things, in her text "Om fotografiet" from 1986. In Rex's universe, photography is as much about inner states as it is about the outer world.

Jytte Rex is one of the country's most distinctive and original artists. Known and loved by many for "Kvindernes Bog", an artist's book with texts and photographs which blew its readers away when it was published in 1972. Experience, among other things, charismatic portrait photographs from the book as well as a long series of Jytte Rex's sensual and subtle works, ranging from groundbreaking feminist avant-garde art to existential exploration of the mysteries of human life.

The exhibition is based on Jytte Rex's (b. 1942) photographic work spanning more than 60 years, but also shows a selection of the artist's portrait films, artist books, texts and archival material.
