Friday Jazz on the quay: Jonas Johansen Adventure Trio

Get in the summer mood in the afternoon sun with world-class Danish jazz when three mature musicians tell their musical story - with free admission!

Over five Fridays in the summer sun, you can listen to established names and young talents in a sublime selection of jazz styles! Enjoy a cold drink and get in the summer mood in front of the Diamond.

Tuneful guitar trio

Jonas Johansen Adventure Trio is based on simple, tuneful lines and strong grooves. The group consists of three mature musicians who simply and clearly tell their story, which stems from a long life with music.
Inspiration from travels around the world is an important part of the trio's sound - it's jazz with a "spy" vibe and a cool groove. Sometimes almost indie rock, other times bolero or ballad with that special mix of sadness and happiness that you also find in South American music.

Originally born in Chicago but living in Copenhagen, Thor Madsen plays with a captivating and direct no-nonsense attitude that really makes his guitar sing.

Over the past 25 years, Daniel Franck has established himself as one of the most used double bassists in Danish jazz. With his extensive knowledge of jazz history, his unique talent and his deep understanding of the element of jazz that is about being creative in the present, he gilds the many contexts in which he participates.

Jonas Johansen is one of our most recognised drummers with a personal sound developed over a 40-year career at the top level. He has appeared on over 200 albums, 16 of which is under his own name. Jonas was the drummer in the DR Big Band 1990 – 1999 and the NHØP Trio 1996-2005.

Experience jazz on the quay every Friday from mid-June to mid-July

Every Friday from 13 June to 11 July, you can enjoy the afternoon sun on the quay in front of the Black Diamond, where we offer a jazzy Friday bar. In front of the Black Diamond, you have a front row seat to experience the characteristic Copenhagen summer life in the harbour canal, with music in your ears.

The café's pop-up bar serves wine, draft beer, cold drinks, snacks, light meals and a summer atmosphere.

The concerts start at 4 p.m. and last until 6 p.m. Please note, however, that the concert on 4 July starts at 5 p.m. and ends at 7 p.m.
