Copenhagen Soloists and Christina Bjørkøe: Chopin and Schumann
Come and hear two of the masters of romanticism performed on historical instruments in the Black Diamond.
The ensemble Copenhagen Soloists specialises in playing historical instruments according to so-called "historically informed practice", and on 27 September you can experience the ensemble playing Chopin and Schumann with pianist Christina Bjørkøe.
The afternoon in the Queen's Hall will feature Frédéric Chopin's first piano concerto; romanticism at its very best. It is passionate music, soaring and dreamlike, with traditional Polish dance at the end. In addition, there is Robert Schumann's Fourth Symphony, which is one of his best and most comprehensive works. A symphonic heavyweight that introduces cyclical musical material throughout the work and forms an impressive and moving whole. It is the first time in recent Danish history that this work has been performed on historical instruments.
Copenhagen Soloists have been performing for 19 years, often as a vocal and instrumental ensemble. For the ensemble's performance of Mozart's Requiem at Musikhuset in 2019, Jyllands-Posten reviewer Rachel Einarsson gave it five stars and wrote: A welcome addition to the musical offering
.
Pianist Christina Bjørkøe has previously performed with Copenhagen Soloists, where she performed Schumann's Piano Concerto, and now you can experience them together again when they visit the Black Diamond with romantic tones.
