Rarely heard works by Johann S. Bach

The evening's programme offers a number of lost, unknown, adapted or rarely heard concertos by Johann S. Bach. Bach has had the same importance for music as Shakespeare for literature and Newton for physics, and much of his music is everlasting for many. Concerto Copenhagen has put together a programme of various reconstructions, arrangements and interpretations of Bach's music, which challenge and expand our understanding of the great master of the Baroque!

Concerto Copenhagen – the ensemble for timeless music

Since the first concerts in 1991, Concerto Copenhagen has developed into Scandinavia's leading orchestra in early music – baroque, classical and early romantic. With artistic director, conductor and harpsichordist Lars Ulrik Mortensen at the helm, Concerto Copenhagen has become synonymous with a special methodical approach to working with the historical material. The orchestra combines artistic authenticity and innovation – through original and uncompromising interpretations, the music gets new life and renewed relevance for a modern audience.
