The classics with Klaus Rothstein: Sigrid Undset
ONLY ANNUAL PASS – Klaus Rothstein once again dives into original materials from Royal Danish Library. We zoom in on the author as a letter writer, and the author is Sigrid Undset herself.
We continue the Diamond Club's series of highly sought-after lectures, where critic Klaus Rothstein delves into the rich treasure trove of original manuscripts from leading authors held by Royal Danish Library. This spring, the focus is on the author as a letter writer. The audience gets a unique opportunity to get up close to original material – of course, based on the principle: look, but do not touch.
Sigrid Undset (1882-1949, Nobel Prize 1928) is one of the great prides of Norwegian literature (also slightly Danish, she was born in Kalundborg!). In these years, Undset is conquering new readers. Young people are in particular responsive to her heartfelt storytelling with a historical perspective and visionary outlook – for example in the great work "Kristin Lavransdatter".
