Autumn holiday: Magic scroll and stamps

A giant scroll with mysterious drawings and stamps. Children and their adults can help create this in the autumn holiday creative workshop.

In the basement under The Black Diamond you will find the historic Ripley's Scroll from the 15th century. The scroll is filled with beautiful and enigmatic illustrations, and it is part of the magic exhibition Between Heaven and Earth. During the autumn holiday we will make our own collective scroll inspired by the old alchemical manuscript.

In the creative workshop we take a closer look at the beautiful illustrations on Ripley's scroll and make our own stamps to decorate the large collaborative work.

You can also visit the exhibition Between Heaven and Earth, where you can see Ripley's scroll and try out the children's material The Key of Magic.

Practical information

There is free admission for all children and their adults to the creative workshop. The activity is primarily aimed at children aged 4-11, but all children are welcome.

The creative workshop will take place in the Panorama Hall from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Friday in week 42. Follow the signs through the building or ask the staff in the shop for directions.

There is free admission for children accompanied by an adult to the exhibition Between Heaven and Earth. Adults have access with an exhibition ticket.

Food can be purchased at The Black Diamond's café. There is limited space to enjoy brought-in food. In good weather, the Library Garden or the harbour quay are an ideal place for packed lunches.
