Royal Danish Library's vision is to be a professional and cultural beacon in a world of knowledge that is increasingly difficult to navigate. We will help you find what you are looking for. And inspire you to find what you did not know you were looking for.

The library has a long and diverse history. A large number of professional competences have continuously been brought together in a joint institution, so that the library today stands on a solid and broadly rooted foundation and is well equipped to take on the tasks of the future. Royal Danish Library is today a unique combination of both national library and university libraries with locations across the country, and with a continued strong and increasing focus on digitising collections and services.

With large collections, a well-functioning infrastructure and strong collaborative relationships, Royal Danish Library disseminates and provides access to a world of knowledge and cultural experiences. The 2024-2027 strategy is based on the fact that the library is a place of knowledge, learning and inspiration for users throughout the country.
