Wintery fairy-tale shows
Aarhus Theatre celebrates its 125th anniversary this year. We are marking this at Royal Danish Library in Aarhus with a winter exhibition in collaboration with the theatre.

Aarhus Theatre has a long tradition of telling fairy tales. For example, there are numerous Hans Christian Andersen fairy tales and Grimm tales which have been performed on stage over the years. For the past 100 years, it has been a regular annual tradition for Aarhus Theatre to offer a great Christmas show, both for children and their families and other youthful or simply theatre-loving souls.
With theatre posters from a selection of the many Christmas performances, pictures from one of the theatre's productions of The Snow Queen and handwritten manuscripts from the early 1900s, we welcome winter to the library. Around the library you can find costumes and objects that have all been used in a Christmas and family show at Aarhus Theatre. It's just a matter of exploring.
We look forward to welcoming both Grundtvig and Filurkatten to the library.
The exhibition can be seen in the library room on Victor Albecks Vej until 9 January 2026.
