Jens Stoltenberg has been secretary-general of NATO from 2014-2024, working to ensure the freedom, stability and security of its member states. On 27 October, he will visit The Black Diamond, where he can be seen in a conversation with Bo Lidegaard about his experiences from working as NATO secretary-general at a time when everything from the war in Ukraine and NATO's involvement in Afghanistan to the cooperation with President Trump has had great significance for the international community.

I am very pleased and proud that Royal Danish Library is hosting Jens Stoltenberg's visit to Denmark. In a time of great uncertainty and polarization, there is a need for shared knowledge and experiences, and a good place to start is in literature and conversation. Now you have the opportunity to hear about the experiences from the work of NATO's top leadership at close range - in a period that was characterized by great security policy tensions. I hope that many, young and old, will seize this opportunity.

- Bente Skovgaard Kristensen, Chief Executive of Royal Danish Library

The occasion for the visit is Jens Stoltenberg's memoir On My Watch, which will be published on 1 October 2025 in a wide range of countries, including Denmark. The event is being held in collaboration with Gutkind Forlag and is part of Royal Danish Library's "Thought Leadership Stage", where Royal Danish Library presents new perspectives from a selection of the world's leading personalities in politics and society in a series of conversations - based on literature.
