String Quartets in the Diamond: Jerusalem Quartet (IL)

Hear the Danish premiere of a brand new work commissioned by the renowned Jerusalem Quartet, which this year marks 30 years together.

Joseph Haydn (1732-1809): String Quartet in Bb major, Op. 76, No. 4, Hob.III: 78, “Sunrise” (1796-97)

Shulamit Ran (b.1949): String Quartet No. 4, commissioned by the Jerusalem Quartet*

Intermission

Maurice Ravel (1875-1937): String Quartet M. 35 (1902-03)

The Jerusalem Quartet is considered one of the world's leading string quartets, and will celebrate 30 years together in 2025! They have a broad repertoire that includes both classics and recent music.

The evening's programme is broad and covers three centuries; from Joseph Haydn's string quartet in Bb major written in the late 18th century to Ravel's string quartet from the early 19th century, and to a brand new work by the Israeli composer Shulamit Ran, which has its Danish premiere this evening.
