Chris Thile (US)
Award-winning American mandolin virtuoso, singer and songwriter Chris Thile returns to the Queen's Hall.
Chris Thile is a musical multi-talent. He is both a singer, songwriter and mandolin player, and has released a long series of solo albums with both his own songs and interpretations of Bach, Bartók and Leonard Cohen, among others. He has been described in The Guardian as that rare creature: an all-round musician
and in NPR as a genre-transcending musical genius

Thile has co-founded several Grammy-winning bands, including the acclaimed American string band Punch Brothers and the bluegrass band Nickel Creek, which released the album Celebrants in 2023. He has also collaborated with countless artists, from Yo-Yo Ma to Fiona Apple.
Tonight he will perform solo with his unique blend of classical, folk and improvisation. The main focus is on his critically acclaimed solo recordings of Bach's sonatas and partitas for mandolin, which can be enjoyed on his new album Bach: Sonatas and Partitas, Vol. 2, which will be released on 7 November.
