Children's Library: Decorate Easter eggs with photography

Our children's universe is open every Sunday. You can explore the imaginative world of books and immerse yourself in creative workshops with space for the whole family to have fun.

Come along to The Children's Library, where we do activities in the creative workshop. In addition, you will always be able to delve into our collection of special children's books, dress up, play games or explore the library with, for example, our Diamond Hunt or explore our exhibitions. There are always children's hosts from the library present to guide you through the activities and children's offers. Read more about it all below.

Creative workshop

Every Sunday we make a creative product in The Children's Library, inspired by works in the library. This Sunday we will make Easter eggs that you can hang at home. We will use pictures of chickens, spring flowers and rabbits from old bulletin boards from schools, which we will use to decorate our Easter eggs. You can also always color our drawing sheets with fairy-tale motifs.

Imaginative costumes and fun games

In The Children's Library you will find a small costume corner. Here you can dress up in fun and beautiful hats, and you can wrap yourself in beautiful capes with gold embroidery. You can also play a special version of Ludo, turn-based games and other fun games. You can also do nice puzzles with motifs from the library's collections.

The little special library

In our small library you will find books that you may not have seen before. These are old children's books from when your parents and grandparents were children, and they are new children's book works with beautiful and different illustrations. You can also browse through a beautiful hand-bound edition of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales, which was made especially for the Children's Library by bookbinders from Royal Danish Library.

Experience the house and the exhibitions

Would you like to experience the house or the library's exhibitions? You can, among other things, go on the Great Diamond Hunt, which takes you on an adventure in the library buildings, or you can explore the Library Garden with the material The Secret Garden. Also visit the exhibition TREASURES, where you can go on a treasure hunt among some of the library's most valuable works. Of course, you can also visit our photo exhibitions in the basement and experience beautiful and fascinating photographs from the collections. See all current exhibitions.
