Special collections in the Map Collection

Frederik V's atlas:
3535 engraved and manuscript maps and prospects, from all parts of the world, in 55 volumes bound in the 18th century. 4 volumes concern Denmark.
The manuscript maps are described in: Ib Rønne Kejlbo: Manuscript maps in the Frederik den Femtes Atlas. 1969, ICCK Kejl. Read the book here.
The digital facsimile allows the user to browse through the volumes.
If a map in the atlas has a record in the librarys online catalog: REX, the title information appears beneath the digitized map.

Atlas Major:
Engraved and manuscript maps and prospects, from all parts of the world, in 64 volumes, collected before 1750.

The Engineer Corps Collection:
Manuscript maps of fortifications etc. in the Duchies of Schleswig-Holstein and the former Danish colonies and some foreign localities from 17th-19th century.

The Hinrich Rink collection:
The collection of manuscript maps of Greenland from the 19. century contains about 140 maps drawn by Rink and other cartographers. Described in: Merete Nibak: Bibliografi over Rinks Samling af kort over Grønland på Det Kongelige Bibliotek. 1982. ICCK MEM Niba. The collection is digitized and are available in REX.
