עברית og יידיש in REX
Apart from using transcription, you can also search using the Hebrew/Yiddish alphabet in The
Royal Library's online catalogue REX. When searching for Hebrew items, it is advisable to try both
with and without definite articles, prepositions etc. (e.g. -ה-, ב-, ל ) and when using
transcription of Hebrew and Yiddish, please try different transcriptions (as well as your
imagination). Please note that Hebrew items published 1950-2003 can generally be found only by
using transcription.
On all public terminals at The Royal Library (the National Library and Copenhagen
University Library), it is possible to chose language/keyboard layout using the blue square
box in the lower right hand corner of the screen, for keyboard layouts, click
here. On your personal PC
(Windows), installation is done via Windows Regional Options in the Control panel. If you have
further (not very technichal) questions, please contact the Judaica Collection (eja@kb.dk).
