Published theatre texts and literature
By selecting "Plays" in the menu of materials in REX it is possible to search exclusively for all plays (printed as well as manuscripts) in the collections of The Royal Library (The National Library).
Moreover, in REX Classic it is possible to search the shelfmark codes and/or the classification codes in order to pin point all printed Danish and foreign theatre texts and general theatre literature in the main collections of The Royal Library (The National Library and the Copenhagen University Library).
Examples:
If you are searching for Danish literature about "Dramaturgy, including theatre journals" published until 1959 then choose in the REX online catalgoue under National Library (Danish Collections) the category "Shelfmark" in the left search field and write the successive shelfmark codes from "17 -47" to "17 -53" in the right search field.
If you are searching for foreign opera-libretti in Danish translations published until 1959 then choose in the REX online catalogue under National Library (Danish Collections) an "Advanced search" and continue from there with a so-called "Command search" by writing the two search codes for "shelfmark" and "word in title" in the search field in this way: wop=56 og wti=opera
The entire collections of theatre literature and their respective shelfmark codes and classification codes are divided into four main sections:
