Programme
Morning
11:30-11:45 a.m.: Dive into Royal Danish Library's DR-arkiv ('Arbejdsgangen' 1st floor)
| By Madeleine Schlawitz, head of department and Jane Holm Kildemand, special consultant, Royal Danish Library
Royal Danish Library's DR-arkiv contains an invaluable collection of Danish television and radio, ranging from world-historical moments in the TV news, to iconic radio programmes like 'Mads og Monopolet', to the glitzy Melodi Grand Prix broadcasts. Dive into the archive with Royal Danish Library.
12:00-12:20 p.m.: Sing your way to the Melodi Grand Prix (the library garden)
| By Henrik Smith-Sivertsen, senior researcher, Royal Danish Library and Ole Vedel Villumsen on grand piano
In 2026, it will be 70 years since the first International Melodi Grand Prix was held. On this occasion, senior researcher Henrik Smith-Sivertsen from Royal Danish Library will tell and sing in this sing-along lecture about the significance of the Grand Prix in European music history.
And you can start brushing up on your German, because we are going to sing "Ein Bisschen Freiden", the winning song from 1982. The theme is peace, and Henrik promises that it will be tender, educational and eye-opening. Especially if you're not a big fan of that grand prix stuff.
(Repeat at 2:00 p.m.)
12.30-12.50 p.m.: Presentation of Mediestream (Meeting 1, Foyer)
| By Max Odsbjerg Pedersen, special consultant, Royal Danish Library
Learn more about Royal Danish Library's digitised newspaper collection and the ability to search for old newspaper articles. We zoom in on the war in 1864 by searching and finding articles about the escape from Dannevirke and the storming of Dybbøl on 18 April, 1864.
1:00-1:20 p.m.: Tænkepausen (Reflection Break) Enmity (Library Garden)
| By Mikkel Thorup, professor of history of ideas, AU
