Watch the Tour de France in front of Royal Danish Library

The area surrounding the Black Diamond will be transformed into a city park this summer in connection with the Tour de France.

When the historic first stage of the Tour de France rolls through the streets of Copenhagen, the stage will be set for quite the party in front of The Black Diamond.

Søren Kierkegaards Plads by the library is transformed into a fan zone where spectators can watch the riders pass by only a few metres away at Christians Brygge. The area will be transformed into a comfortable urban space with grass, trees and a square with food trucks and a big screen, where all the stages in Denmark 1-3 July 2022 are shown.

The city will benefit from the new green oasis all summer long - the temporary urban space will remain until the beginning of August. So feel free to help take good care of the temporary city park - for example, by leaving the grill at home.

Remember that on 2 July 2022 you can try your hand at the 1st stage, when everyone is invited to participate in the free Tour de Copenhagen.

Collaboration on the green urban space

The interior of Søren Kierkegaards Plads was designed by the architectural firm BOGL and has been created in a collaboration between Realdania, SLKS, the National Museum / War Museum, the City of Copenhagen and Royal Danish Library.
