GKS 2008 4°: Ovidius, Metamorphoses

The manuscript contains the 15 songs of Ovid’s Metamorhoses. Several interlinear and marginal glosses have been added to the text that is introduced by two accessus on the first three leaves of the volume:

1v: Accessus "Quidam philosophi fuerant" (cf. Demats, Fabula, p. 179-184)
3r: Accessus "Quoniam omnis prolixitas fastidium generat" (cf. Demats, Fabula, p. 187-188)

The manuscript was acquired by the Royal Library at the auction of the Chapter Library of Hamburg in 1784. It was revised and signed by Johann Martin Winckler, appointed secretary to the chapter in 1727. The manuscript was rebound during the reign of King Christian VIII (1839-1848)
