For this song, Nielsen re-used the text from the play Moderen (CNW 18, No. 14) but applied the slightly different melody of Sangen til Danmark (CNW 237), also from the play (CNW 18, No. 22). Both songs were published in Melodier til Sangbogen "Danmark" in 1924 with identical arrangements for children's choir.
