GKS 2006 4°: Vergilius, Aeneis (cum glossis)

Parchment, 93 ff. (paginated), 23,6 x 10,5 cm; Italy or southern France, 1175-1200

The manuscript contains the 12 books of Virgil's Aeneid. There are interlinear and marginal glosses to the text, some contemporary with the copy, others added later. There are argumenta metrica at the beginning of books 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6

The manuscript was acquired by the Royal Library at the auction of the Chapter Library of Hamburg in 1784. It was paginated and signed by Johann Martin Winckler, appointed secretary to the chapter in 1727. The manuscript was rebound during the reign of King Frederik VII (1848-1863), and again in 1975
