GKS 443 2°: Solinus, Collectanea

Parchment, 47 ff., ca. 32,5 × 21 cm; 1200- 1250

The manuscript contains C. Julius Solinus’ Collectanea rerum memorabilium. It is followed by a small medieval appendix on Norway and other northern regions, and by two hagiographic texts on the invention and translation of the Holy Cross:

1r-42v: Solinus, Collectanea

42v: "Noruueghe, halilande ... Nessunt, Man"

43r-46r: Inventio sanctae Crucis [BHL 4171]

46r-47v: Reversio sanctae crucis domini nostri Jesu Christi, = Rhabanus Maurus, Homilia LXX (PL 110 col. 131-134) [BHL 4178]

As is the case with another Solinus-manuscript, the much older GKS 444 2°, even GKS 443 2° came to the Royal Library from Gottorp Castle. Before Gottorp it was in the collection of Friedrich Lindenbrog, who wrote his name on f. 1r. - The entire manuscript collection of Gottorp Castle was transferred to the Royal Library in 1735
