Welcome back on 21 April
We look forward to seeing you again in earnest. Stay tuned and be updated on how you can use the library again as we begin to reopen our services.
Updated 19 April 2021 at 12.12 p.m. Will be updated continuously.
Det Kgl. Bibliotek opens its doors further on 21 April 2021. We do not know all the details of the reopening yet, but we promise to continuously update this page.
On Wednesday 21 April, we open our reading rooms, study facilities (study places, copy/print, etcetera.), guidance, collection and returns at most of our addresses, as well as the exhibition in The Black Diamond, Copenhagen. All of course according to the guidelines of the Danish Health Authority. It also means you will have to present a valid COVID-19 passport in order to access our buildings. Read more about the COVID-19 passport at coronasmitte.dk
However, it applies to several of our study facilities that they are located on university grounds, and therefore we are dependent on agreements with the universities. We are in close dialogue with our partners, and we will let you know here as soon as we know more.
All physical events are still cancelled until we know more about our options in regards to events.
Remember - until 20 April, you can still pick up and drop off books at selected locations. You can find out more about your options below.
Guidelines until 21 April 2021
Returns and loans
Until and including 20 April 2021 (holidays and weekends excluded), you can continue to pick up and hand in books and journals meant for research and teaching.
Unfortunately, our reading rooms are not open, and you may only stay in our buildings to pick up or drop off your books and journals.
Please pay close attention to the directions on site and follow the instructions of the staff.
Don't forget that you have to order your material and receive a notification stating it is ready on the shelf for you before you can pick it up. You can only pick up the material at the place we have specified in the email to you.
If you have ordered books or journals for pick up at one of the places that we have closed, you will receive a message about where you can pick up the material instead. Please note that you will not hear from us until the material is ready for collection at the new location.
Reading room loans and other special conditions
Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve books and other materials marked as reading room only, as our reading rooms are closed.
All material can only be picked up in person. Unfortunately, we cannot offer delivery to university staff.
