Coronavirus winter 20/21

During the time period 9 December 2020 - 7 February 2021, you can pick up and drop off books at selected locations, days and times. Check our opening hours. All physical events are cancelled.

Updated 14 January 2021 at 9.48 am. Will be updated continuously.

Det Kgl. Bibliotek closely follows the developments around COVID-19 as well as the Danish health authorities' recommendations. We're still working on determining what the latest lockdown means for you as a user, but here's what we know right now.

Returns and loans

During the time period starting 9 December 2020 to and including 7 February 2021 (holidays and weekends excluded), you can continue to pick up and hand in books and journals meant for research and teaching.

Unfortunately, our reading rooms are not open, and you may only stay in our buildings to pick up or drop off your books and journals.

Please pay close attention to the directions on site and follow the instructions of the staff.

Don't forget that you have to order your material and receive a notification stating it is ready on the shelf for you before you can pick it up. You can only pick up the material at the place we have specified in the email to you.

If you have ordered books or journals for pick up at one of the places that we have closed, you will receive a message about where you can pick up the material instead. Please note that you will not hear from us until the material is ready for collection at the new location.

Reading room loans and other special conditions

Unfortunately, it is not possible to reserve books and other materials marked as reading room only, as our reading rooms are closed.

All material can only be picked up in person. Unfortunately, we cannot offer delivery to university staff.
