Ibn al-Hağğāğ al-Baġdādī was a popular poet famous for his irreverent sukhf-verses.The anthology is selected by Ibn Nubātah al-Misrī (d. 768 H [1366 CE])
The manuscript was bought in Cairo in 1763 by the Danish philologist Frederik Christian von Haven (d. 1763 CE), a member of the Carsten Niebuhr expedition (1761-1767 CE).
