The main contents of the codex are Martianus Capella, De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii, lib. I-II & VIII. In addition it contains a note on numerals, some scholia to De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii, I-II, and Boethius’ De differentiis topicis, liber IV:
f. 1r-28v: De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii, liber I
f. 28v-54r: De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii, liber II
f. 54r: scheme of Greek numerals and their Roman equivalents
f. 54v-55r: scholia to the end of liber I and the beginning of liber II of De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii
f. 55r-59r : Boethius, De differentiis topicis, liber IV, seemingly copied in the same hand as the preceding scholia
f. 59v-81v: De nuptiis Philologiae et Mercurii, liber VIII. The first part of the book (§§ 803-813, ed. Dick & ed. Willis) has not been copied, the text beginning from § 814
Marginal & interlinear notes have been added to parts of the texts
From the mid sixteenth to the early part of the seventeenth centuries the manuscript was in the library of Gottorp Castle near Schleswig. It arrived there via Fridericus Lindenbrogius (1573-1648), who is known to have acquired several manuscripts from libraries in Paris that were soon to be included in the Gottorp Library, and who seems to have added the note of contents on f. 1r and the title on f. 59v. In 1735 all the manuscripts of Gottorp were brought to Copenhagen and incorporated in the Royal Library. The volume got its present binding during the reign of king Christian VII (1766-1808)
