Fabr. 20 2°: Registrum liberarie Studii Erfordensis

Paper, 67ff., ca. 31,5 × 21,5 (f. 1-47) + ca. 31,5 × 21 (f. 48-67); Germany: Erfurt, c. 1500 and later

The main part of the volume (f. 1-47) is a catalogue of codices in the University Library of Erfurt by the end of the Middle Ages. On f. 1r it is called Registrum liberarie in domo vniversitatis Studij Erdfordensis. An inscription on the upper right corner of its parchment binding states that it was the "Liber decani" and that it had been used for a revision of the collection

The volume does not contain an explicit date, but notices about donators point to the period around 1500. H. O. Lange believed it was made some time between 1480 and 1485, whereas Paul Lehmann suggested the first half of the year 1510

The post-medieval part of the volume (f. 48-67) consists of four, seemingly unrelated, elements. The last of these includes titles of books printed in 1687. The brief period of time between this and the death year of the first known private owner of the manuscript, Marquard Gude (1635-1689), make it likely that at least this element was added while it was in his possession

After Gude the volume was owned by Johann Albert Fabricius (1668-1736) and later by Hermann Samuel Reimarus (1694-1768), Fabricius’ son-in-law and heir to his collection of manuscripts. The collection was bought as an ensemble by the University Library of Copenhagen in 1770. The entire collection of manuscripts of the University Library was incorporated into the Royal Library in 1938
