Books
Last update: 11-05-2010 02:48 PMBooks in print as well as electronic books can be searched directly in REX, the online catalogue of The Royal Library. If the material is not available in REX, you can order it via bibliotek.dk, the online catalogue for all libraries in Denmark.
REX is specifically suitable for searching ”all fields” (title, author, keyword(s)).
If you know the author-name or title you should limit the search by only writing the surname of the author combined with a few central words from the title.
If a more systematic search within a given subject is required, use subject codes.
SK1 = the classification 1980 – 1994
SK2 = the classification 1995 – 2007
At present most of the books in English will be classified in the DDC code, whereas books in Danish are classified in the DK5.
Subject search by means of SK2
Write the SK2 code and in the third down drop menu mark “Classification/Call no.” All of the codes you can find here.
Subject search by means of DDC (Dewey)
In “all fields” you choose “Dewey classification” and write the subject code in the searching panel.
